How exciting to write our first blog on the tenth birthday of our conservation and land management business!
And even more excitement to be launching our new website today!
Today our crews are busy out restoring nature back to its original state along waterways and in grasslands across the western regions of Melbourne. Over the past ten years our Aus Eco Solutions team has restored over 1/4 of a million hectares of land into habitat for our native flora and fauna.
Stay tuned for photos from our fun celebrations with our team planned for later in the week….
And to share our celebrations with you, we have picked the theme of ‘ten’ with ten ideas for you to do to restore native ecosystems:
- Plant bird attracting trees
- Provide water sources in your property i.e. ponds, bird baths, etc
- Plant indigenous trees local to your area
- Build or buy a nest box (your local men’s group may make them)
- Provide hiding spots for the little critters i.e. mulch, logs, etc
- Provide layers of vegetation on your property i.e. mulch, ground covers, shrubs, and tall trees
- Use mulch on garden beds to not only reduce water use but also reduce weed growth, give nutrients to the soil and provide habitat for beetles and worms
- Have piles of rocks or boulders for lizard shelter (or some corrugated iron)
- Google how to build a ladybird house
- Join your local landcare or “Friends of local park” group or join our website tribe to learn more….
Enjoy your day immersed with nature…. we will be!
