Aus Eco Solutions recently undertook some woody weed control within the Great Otway National Park.
The woody weed control included cutting and painting Sweet Pittosporum (Pittosporum undulatum) within the Great Otway National Park.
Cutting and painting is an effective weed control tool in the management of woody weeds, as you are cutting the plant down as close to the ground as possible either using a chainsaw or loppers and within 15 to 20 seconds you are painting the stump with chemical in order for the weed to uptake the chemical.
This type of weed control ensures, if completed correctly, that the plant will not grow back and will give the native flora around a chance to grow in the weeds place.
Aus Eco Solutions had a great time completing this work at Cumberland River Track for Parks Victoria.
